What do you enjoy most about working with the OP campaign? 

I love being able to connect state employees with nonprofit organizations.  State employees are known for their generosity.  Helping them find a charity close to their heart is the best part of the job.   

How long have you been involved in or volunteered with the campaign?

I first got involved with Our Promise 5 years ago when I helped organize EIS’ kickoff event.  Last year I was asked to be the Loaned Executive for CDCR and was invited back this year.  I’m very grateful to have been given this opportunity by my Department.

What inspires you to give through the campaign?

The ease of donating to my charity through Our Promise is definitely a huge benefit.  I know my charity can depend on getting a steady stream of funding and Our Promise takes care of all the details for me.    

What nonprofits do you donate time or funds to, and why?

I donate to The Ali Forney Center in New York City.  The Ali Forney Center was founded in 2002. Their mission is to provide LGBTQ young people housing and a continuum of supportive services to help them thrive and prepare them for independent living.  They have a proven track record of giving these kids the tools and support they need to go out and become dynamic members of society.
